Lithuania Ranch residency, summer 2012
This one week summer workshop at the ranch attempted to enable a spontaneous environment of making and being. It ran as a collaborative event with Canterbury School of Architecture and Chelsea College of Art & Design. the place was rural and not easy to live in. The well might run dry. The loo had no flush handle. There was no internet connection. It was an unpredictable place.
We made practical products to help benefit our living experience. we renovated the shower, made a temporary shelter, constructed a sink near by our barn.
Working on the site encouraged us to work with existing materials and the wood which surrounded us all.
I had a enough time to take lots of photos, and to make a sliding door box with coasters to take with me from the site! The material were carefully chosen, coasters remade for long lasting qualities several times.
