About me

My longstanding fascination with both science and art led me to study Architecture at undergraduate level at Yerevan State University of Architecture and Construction in Armenia. Throughout my pre-university education, I maintained a keen interest in art and design such as handmade decorative sculptures, cards, gift boxes and candles. I have also enjoyed painting and drawing, taking professional lessons from the age of nine and displayed my work in local galleries on several occasions.

I have always been inspired by the built environment around me from a place as simple as my immediate neighbourhood to the tallest sky scraper and the traditional indigenous structures around the world. Travelling around my home country Iran, has allowed me to experience a variety of folk cultures along with some of the most ancient masterpieces of architecture such as Persepolis.

I studied BA Architecture in Russian language which widened my scientific knowledge of architecture.Living in Armenia for 5 years gave me the opportunity to improve my adaptability and independence. I lived in Iran for two years after my graduation and then moved to London in 2010.

I decided to study interior and spatial design at Chelsea because I believed there is a much stronger connection between the interior of buildings and the human spirit rather than the exterior of buildings. also, I enjoy the liberty that is given to me to express and explore my ideas freely. My thesis focused on aspects of divider screens in the spatial and metaphoric realms. With the keen interest in relating my work to Middle East Art and Design, I continue to cooperate with museums and galleries as an assistant Middle East curator and interior design adviser both in Iran and in the UK.

This blog will be mainly reflecting a collection of my work during my undergraduate and post graduate studies, the process of developing my thesis and studio practice at Chelsea college of Art& Design, and my personal and miscellaneous observation, and works including my paintings and photography.

I believe it may help me keep and organize sufficient materials for more projects. Hope it will also provide a general understanding of my project and interests. I will be happy to read comments.
